The competition season starts with the opening of Cadet(U-17) State Championships, held on 2nd and 3rd December, 2023 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh a state in India. I clinched the Gold Medal in my category and will be representing my state in the nationals. I was notified about this two weeks prior to the D-Day. This was a state competition but it was also the selection trials for Cadet National Championship which is going to be held later this month from 19th to 22nd December in Mahesana, Gujarat a state in India. I participated individually in the category of Sabre and I represented the district Jabalpur which is a well known district from Madhya Pradesh. There were participants from all over the state and showed a tough competition.
In my category, there were two pools made comprising of six fencers each. While fighting though the pool bouts, I stood first in the pool. After the pools were the knockouts comprising of 8 fencers, four selected from both the pools. My first knockout was quite easy as I won it by the score of 15-6. Clearing this I was in the semi-finals. The score for the semi-final knockout was 15-8 and passing this was the finals. The final match was quite a bout because my opponent was also very well versed. But overcoming all the hardships I won the finals with the score of 15-11. With squealing’s joy. I was happy to be first and will be ready to represent my state in the nationals now aiming to be in good position.
