FENCE THE FUTURE / MOKSHADA CHOUDHARY

Sports play a crucial role in fostering physical fitness, mental well- being and a sense of community. In the pursuit of promoting sports awareness and promoting fencing as an individual sports, I have started a campaign named “Fence the Future” wherein I will be conducting workshops in different schools and community centres promoting fencing as a career option and as a sporting event. Fencing an ancient art transformed into a modern Olympic sport, not only offers a thrilling physical activity but also cultivates discipline, strategy, and sportsmanship. And hence it will bring out the significance of fencing workshop in the context of sports awareness.
MY POSTER FOR THE INITIATIVE

By providing participants with hands-on experience in wielding a sabre, foil or epee, these workshops breakdown preconceived notions and create a sense of curiosity. Participants not only learn basic techniques of fencing but also gain insights into the history and philosophy behind this ancient art.

Fencing as a sport provided me with a set goal and the dedication required for me to achieve it. And I feel proud to say that fencing improved as an athlete and as a human being as well. I have become more resilient in the face of adversity. It taught me how to overcome problems by taking over it calmly. By going to training everyday on time, following all instructions made a very disciplined self. Being very competitive my willpower to never give up became much more stronger now! And through continuous improvement and excellence I try to achieve better and the results are surely visible. By taking these quality forward I want to inculcate these in every child like me who is striving to do better.  Through these workshop they can discover that how much they can do and they can even choose an off beat sports like fencing as their profession.

Fencing workshops bridge the gap between ancient art of swordplay and the modern world’s need for engaging and beneficial physical activities.  These workshops not only introduce individuals to the sport but also contribute to a broader awareness of importance of fencing as a sport in fostering physical, mental and social well being. By embracing fencing, communities and children can take a meaningful thrust into the world of athleticism, strategy and sportsmanship.
