Recently, I had the privilege of being invited as a speaker at a women inclusion program aimed at fostering diversity in Narangi Military Station, Ghuwati , Assam. The event provided a platform to discuss various facets of women inclusion, ranging from leadership opportunities to breaking barriers in male-dominated industries. As someone passionate about advocating for gender equality and empowering women, I found the experience enriching and enlightening.
One of the key topics discussed during the program was the importance of empowering women in leadership roles. Despite strides made in recent years, women remain underrepresented in leadership positions across industries. Addressing this imbalance requires concerted efforts to eliminate biases in recruitment, promotion, and decision-making processes. As a speaker, I emphasized the need for organizations to implement proactive measures, such as mentorship programs, leadership training, and transparent promotion policies, to groom and support female leaders. I even introduced my campaign ‘Fence the Future’ to the audience! Where I discussed how I go about the initiative and how people are motivated. Lastly I ended my talk with some motivational words encouraging girls present there to explore their interests!
Participating as a speaker in the women inclusion program was both inspiring and thought-provoking. It reinforced my belief in the transformative power of collective action and advocacy in advancing gender equality. As we continue to strive for progress, let us remember that women’s inclusion is not just a moral imperative but also a strategic imperative for building a brighter and more prosperous future.
