Here all Fence, the Fencer’s Way! / MOKSHADA CHOUDHARY

When people hear about fencing, something that often comes to mind is dueling with rapiers or

swords. Well, they’re half right: we duel, but we just call the swords or rapiers the ‘weapon’ now! I

am a National Fencer and have been playing this sport for almost four years. Before realizing that

fencing was the love of my life, I tried my hand and foot! at many sports, but once I started fencing,

it became clear that was what I wanted to do. A fencer is also known as a receiver, moving man or a

mover. These quick actions have given me great reflexes, which make me capable of some real

mischief! Without a bulwark (a defensive wall), a fencer is out of their element and quite lost. As we

say, “The best defence is a good offence.”

Fencing is extremely important to me, and has taught me many valuable skills. So, gathering up all

the confidence and knowledge it has given me, I am taking the plunge to start this blog to share my

knowledge about the sport that is my companion through life! I hope to interact with everyone who

comes across this blog, hear about your experiences, and discuss the role that fencing has played in

our lives. I hope you enjoy reading, and I look forward to seeing your inputs!
