JUNIOR AND SENIOR NATIONALS TRAILS / MOKSHADA CHOUDHARY

Continuing with the season, I had some for qualifiers to attend. The trials for Junior(U-19) and Senior(U-23)  Nationals were held last week , from 10th to 11th December in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh a state in India. I participated in my category Sabre and stood first in the Junior Nationals Trials and second in the Senior Nationals Trials. I will be now representing my state in the Junior Nationals which will be held later this month in Raipur, Chhattisgarh a state in India. And as for the Senior Nationals they will be held next year late January in Ghuwati, Assam a state in India.

In my category there were not many fencers but altogether a pretty good number participated. First the junior trials were held, there was only one pool formed comprising of six fencers, out of those I stood first in the pool. Then there were knockout matches for all the six players as the count was low. I played three knockout totally out of which I got a bye ticket for the first one. The score that I achieved in my final bout to stand first was 15-10. With that the junior trials for sabre category were finished.

Next for the senior trials they started after the lunch break. We proceeded with the knockouts. I played three fencers and the last one was the finals. In the final bout I lost by the score of 15-13. A close loss but I was selected for the senior trials as top four fencers were to be taken. With that the senior trials were done with.

Lastly some documentation was required and some extra information about the fencers who were selected. After completing the procedures, my qualifying weekend came to an end.
