Recently I again got the opportunity to launched my book ‘The Musings of Chimera’ again in AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association) Literature Festival: Abhivyakti Season 3. This association was formed to take care of the welfares wards and ladies of Indian Army personnel’s. The first season was held in Delhi, India in 2021, the second one was held in Jaipur, state of Rajasthan, India in 2022 and the third one was held in Pune, state of Maharashtra, India. It was a three day festival from 27th October, 2023 to 29th October, 2023; including many activities and hosting many famously known authors and persons. The activities included book discussions, talk shows, book exhibitions, workshops conducted on international current affairs involving literature and history of English and Hindi literature of the country. Famous Indian authors like Chetan Bhagat, Bollywood star Anupam Kher and Media Personnel Rajat Sharma were all there to be a part of this wonderful event!
My event was in the second day of the festival, beside me there were four others whose book were also getting launched and introduced. It was held in RSI (Rajendra Sinhji Institute). The institute, was established under the patronage of Late General Maharaj Shri Rajendra Sinhji, DSO in 1950. We were seated like panel discussers. Before launching the book, we had a question- answer round where the host asked us questions randomly and we had to answer them. Questions like: When did you start writing and how were you interested in this area? What is your book about and what is the purpose of the book? What can you tell me about the writer’s block, have you ever experienced it? What message will you to today’s young generation? The last question was somewhat intriguing to me as being a young author I had different views than most of the other kids. I encouraged them to read as much they can because the knowledge that we have or we will gain we will do from books. although the internet may be efficient and fast but the books create a sense of belongingness which cannot felt while surfing through the internet. After the question answer round, we were made to go in front one by one and our respective books were launched by Dr. Monisha Singh who is an eminent personality, was crowned the title of Mrs India the Queen of Substance 2023. When my name was called it felt almost surreal. It is a feeling that I still cannot get used to it. The hall was filled to its full capacity and the audience was really enthusiastic this time. The feeling of being up there on stage while my parents watch me, made me really proud. And finally came the moment I was waiting for, the unwrapping of my book, the guest unwrapped my book while the hall was in utter silence , I was impatiently waiting for to reveal its face. When the book was unwrapped, I held my book with the guest of honour and flashed a cliché smile as my happiness was out of bounds. It was an honour to get my book launched at this stage! After launching of the book we did the vote of thanks and as soon as I got off the stage I was bombarded with a parade of congratulations and wishes. Indeed it felt wonderful to be there. It was a thrilling opportunity and experience that I was given and was really glad that I could participate in this amazing Lit Fest.
And now let me tell you something about my book, The Musings of Chimera is compilation of the poems that I have written over the lockdown period during COVID-19. It was a period of longed creativity just leashing out of everybody. I utilized that time very carefully as it would not return again once gone. I started writing small small poems and everyday practising I could write a page or so. Well after that it was a cake walk! Inside the books are sketches that are illustrated by me defining the poem clearly so the reader does not misinterpret my work. These sketches also provide a base for understanding a poem and reveals about the hidden meaning behind it. The poems are based on random topic of life that are unnoticed by everyone, to bring up their importance, I showed cased their significance through writing. My book is available on all online platforms like amazon and flip kart. Please do give a read to my book and I am sure you will find it thrilling and interesting.
