The Lasting Heroes! / MOKSHADA CHOUDHARY

Today was the day when the bravest and gallants heroes of India’s 26/11 attack were remembered. The 26/11 attacks, also known as the Mumbai terror attacks, occurred on November 26, 2008. Ten terrorists belonging to the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out a series of coordinated attacks across Mumbai, India. The attackers targeted multiple locations, including the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, the Oberoi Trident Hotel, Nariman House (a Jewish community centre), and Leopold Café.

The terrorists opened fire, planted bombs, and took hostages during a siege that lasted for several days. The attacks resulted in the tragic loss of 166 lives, including both Indian and foreign nationals, and left hundreds injured. Security forces, including the National Security Guard (NSG), played a crucial role in neutralizing the terrorists and bringing the situation under control.

The heroes of 26/11, whose stories are woven into the fabric of that dark chapter in our history, deserve an eternal gratitude and remembrance. Their acts of bravery serve as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the human soul. As we honour their memory, let also renew our commitment to building a world where such acts of terror have no place, where the legacy of the 26/11 heroes inspire future generations to stand against hatred and violence.

On this occasion to honour their bravery, I as a leading activist from my NGO Care Takers Society, lighted lamps( a deepo-utsav) on the Camp Memorial, Pune, Maharashtra a state in India. The Camp memorial was built in the honour of these gallantry persons. And this year was the 102th year of its making.

Here are some snaps and videos from the event:
