Yes, I am back with very fantastic news for you, my dear readers and upcoming fencers. Recently I participated Khelo MP National Games, 2023 which were held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. I bagged a Silver Medal in individual Sabre Category. The games started from 28th September and lasted till 3rd October. The selections were held on the first day , top 12 were to be selected and those 12 fencers were to perform and compete on the 1st of October, the day of final matches. I was determined to do well in selections , I really wanted to perform well and make everyone proud! Well indeed, I fenced well through my selections rounds. Focused on myself and my game and that altogether went pretty well!
Following came the final day for which I have prepared , the plan was pretty simple: I do well in pool bouts , stand first in them , go through the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finally finals and get the gold medal, stand on the top of the podium and wave my hands to everyone, smiling and clicking pictures. Well it sounds easy right!? Nonetheless , it was not at all easy! I did well in the pool matches which were 5 touch bouts. In my pool there were total 6 fencers including me. I won all the bouts to be the first one in my pool, which gave me a head start into the quarterfinals round. The semi- finals was a cake walk. I won the round with the score of (15-5). But then the finals were though as a wall, I lost through the score of (15-7). Although I did fight through but my opponent got better of me ! I was not satisfied with my play and promised to come back strong with new tricks up my sleeves.
